Harmonie Keys is a browser-based creative tool for building rich, emotional chord progressions and harmonic ideas quickly. It was designed for producers who start with mood, atmosphere, and feeling.
Is Harmonie Keys a plugin?
No. Harmonie Keys is not currently a VST, AU, or DAW plugin. It runs in the browser.
Does it run inside my DAW?
No. Harmonie Keys is meant to be used alongside your DAW, not inside it. It works best as a dedicated harmony and idea-generation tool that helps you find the emotional core of a track before or during production.

Harmonie Keys is especially strong for deep house, lo-fi, soul, hip-hop, ambient, jazz-informed electronic music, and other styles that depend heavily on mood, harmonic color, and emotional atmosphere. That said, it can be useful anywhere rich chords matter.
Do I need music theory?
No. Harmonie Keys is built to help you find beautiful harmonic movement by ear and instinct, not just theory. Some theory knowledge can help, but it is not required.
Is this a DAW replacement?
No. Harmonie Keys is not trying to replace your DAW. It is a dedicated tool for developing chord progressions, harmonic ideas, and emotional direction quickly.
Will it fit my workflow?
That depends on how you like to work. If you are comfortable building ideas outside the DAW and then integrating them into your production process, it can be a strong fit. If you only enjoy working inside a DAW plugin environment, it may not be ideal for you in its current form.
